Madison Square Park Conservancy is responsible for the maintenance of the park’s lawns which are in the process of spring reseeding. While the grass is establishing now, visitors should expect the majority of lawns to be ready for use in late May.  Lawns are open daily for public use starting at 10 AM through 5 PM, weather permitting. Plastic Free July is here at Madison Square Park!

As we begin our campaign here in the park, our staff, partners, and volunteers will raise awareness about reducing single-use and other plastic waste by reusing, donating, and more.

Look out for tips on replacing single-use items on our social media, website, and newsletter! We will also offer activations around family, pets, lunch, and lifestyle, where community members will have an opportunity to donate items or receive discounts for opting for reusables every Thursday. A great way to start is by having a plastic free day in the park the next time you visit!
