Let your child’s imagination and feet run wild at the Police Officer Moira Ann Smith Playground located just inside the 25th and 26th Street entrances. Open year-round, the playground is a safe, inviting space for kids of all ages.

Police Officer Moira Ann Smith Playground Hours:

  • 7 AM – 9 PM (March 2 – October 31st)
  • 7 AM – 6 PM (November 1- March 1)

Children from the neighborhood and beyond come to enjoy the brightly colored playground’s kid-friendly water fountains, tire-swings, water-spouting alphabet blocks, turrets, slides, and large water wheel.

The playground’s water features, proximity to Shake Shack, and the kids’ concert series make it a popular place for neighborhood families to gather on warm summer days.

Named after Officer Moira Ann Smith, the only NYPD policewoman to be lost on September 11, 2001, the playground stands as a loving tribute to this community hero and mother.
