Music Series with Carnegie Hall: July 21
In collaboration with Carnegie Hall, Music on the Green is a free, unticketed concert series inspired by Maya Lin’s Ghost Forest that brings artists from the Hall’s Ensemble Connect to reflect on the themes of the exhibition.
Concerts are held every Wednesday from July 7 through August 11 at 6 – 7 PM on the Oval Lawn. Limited seating is available on a first come, first served basis. Program is rain or shine.
MUSIC SERIES
On Wednesday, July 21 from 6 – 7 PM, experience a string ensemble performed by an internationally acclaimed cellist, violist, and violinist. Participating musicians include Halam Kim, viola; Gergana Haralampieva, violin; and Arlen Hlusko, cello.
The program includes:
- Johann Sebastian Bach, Selections from Goldberg Variations
- Bright Sheng, Selections from “Angel Fire Duo”
- India Gailey, Mountainweeps
- Alfred Schnittke, Adagio from String Trio
- Virgil Thomson, Ruth Smallens
- Reinhold Glière, Prelude and Berceuse from Eight Pieces, Op. 39
- Scott Ordway, Selections from Nineteen Movements for Unaccompanied Cello
- John Luther Adams, Three High Places
- Traditional, “Deep River” (arr. Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Arlen Hlusko)
