Lawns Open    Lawns Closed

Madison Square Park Conservancy is responsible for the maintenance of the park’s lawns which are in the process of spring reseeding. While the grass is establishing now, visitors should expect the majority of lawns to be ready for use in late May.  Lawns are open daily for public use starting at 10 AM through 5 PM, weather permitting. Lawns are closed on Parade Days.  Learn more about park hours and rules by visiting our FAQ page.

Restoring Native Plant Pledge

Restoring Native Plant Pledge

Native plants provide vital food sources for many of the animals and insects that call the city home. However, invasive and non-native species that are introduced to the area can often outcompete native species, causing widespread ecological impacts.

By pledging to read our Guide to Restoring Native Plants in NYC, you can take an important first step in better understanding the importance of native species, and hopefully find the inspiration to introduce native plants to your own garden or window box.
