Engaging with World-Class Art Through the Conservancy’s Art Council
Madison Square Park Conservancy’s Art Council is a group that brings together art enthusiasts and professionals to support the strength and future of the public art program in Madison Square Park.
Through monthly events, members engage directly with artists and build meaningful personal and professional relationships amongst each other. Members are given the opportunity to connect with New York City’s art world through intimate studio visits with artists, private tours of current exhibitions, festive cocktail parties, access to art fairs, and conversations with thought leaders.
This month, Art Council members will join exhibition tours of Tau Lewis’ Vox Populi, Vox Dei at 52 Walker and Firelei Báez’s Americananana at James Cohan Gallery. Following the tours, members will gather at Casa Carmen for drinks.
In December, members will visit artist Shahzia Sikander at her studio to see examples of her recent work and hear her speak about her upcoming exhibition, Havah…to breathe, air, life, which opens in Madison Square Park on January 17, 2023.
For questions about the Art Council, please reach out to the Conservancy’s Curatorial Manager, Truth Murray-Cole.
