Introducing Willow!

The lovable Pembrooke Welsh Corgi of
Mad. Friends David and Alexandra.

1. Introduce us to Willow.

Willow is our almost three-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi.  She loves to take naps on / under our bed, get lots of belly rubs, and dribble her tennis balls around our apartment (we think she might have a budding career as a soccer star!).  She is quite bright, but also very stubborn; for example, Willow has learned to “sit,” but only for the right incentive: namely anything her dad is eating!  That being said, Willow’s begging face might be Top 5 cutest in NYC!

2. How long has Willow been visiting Madison Square Park? And what does he/she like to do there?

Willow has been visiting Madison Square Park since the summer of 2018, back when she was just a puppy.  She views the Park as her big backyard and loves to pull us straight to the dog run when we arrive so she can meet new friends.  Her favorite season at the Park is fall (Willow loves jumping in the freshly raked leaf piles…sorry team!)

3. Does Willow have any particular dog friends in the Park?

Willow is a bit of a shy dog, so while it may take her a few seconds to warm up to her pals at the Park after she “sniffs out” the situation, she considers all dogs to be her friends (especially Labrador and Golden Retrievers!)

4. If Willow could tell the visitors of Madison Square Park one thing, what would it be?

Willow would tell visitors, whether local or out-of-towners, to make sure they do a full walk around the entire Park at some point during their time in NYC. Madison Square Park is full of character and is a wonderful place to bring your friends, family, and furry companions to escape from the hustle and bustle of NYC…or in Willow’s case, the napping, treat nibbling, and “splooting” around Chelsea that she’s prone to be engaging in when not at the Park!
