Madison Square Park Conservancy is responsible for the maintenance of the park’s lawns which are in the process of spring reseeding. While the grass is establishing now, visitors should expect the majority of lawns to be ready for use in late May.  Lawns are open daily for public use starting at 10 AM through 5 PM, weather permitting. Lawns are closed on Parade Days.  Learn more about park hours and rules by visiting our FAQ page.

Wildlife Outing

Wildlife Outing 5.23.23

Next week is Pollinator Week! Join us in an early celebration as we explore Madison Square Park for bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

June’s Wildlife Outing will be led by Sarah Kornbluth, a bee biologist, Field Associate of the Division of Invertebrate Zoology at the American Museum of Natural History and expert at identifying bee species.

Outings are open to people of all ages. Sarah will help participants spot all types of wildlife in the park, so we invite you to bring your own binoculars. We’ll be meeting at the north entrance of the Oval Lawn, near the reflecting pool.

Registration kindly requested.
