Surveying Native Pollinators Webinar
June 19-25 is Pollinator Week, an annual international celebration to raise awareness of pollinator health. This year, Madison Square Park Conservancy invites ecology enthusiasts, the bee community, and nature lovers to learn about pollinators that live in New York State, why they are essential, and how we can all work together to protect them.
In the Surveying Native Pollinators webinar, Matt Schlesinger, Ph.D., Chief Zoologist, New York Natural Heritage Program; Dustin Partridge, Ph.D., Director of Conservation and Science, NYC Audubon; and Sarah Kornbluth, Field Associate, Division of Invertebrate Zoology, American Museum of Natural History, will discuss the results of a New York State Pollinator survey, the importance of urban green spaces to pollinators and other wildlife, and findings from a pollinator survey done here in our very own park. Madison Square Park’s Horticulture Manager, Jessica Kaplan, will moderate.
