Madison Square Park Conservancy is responsible for the maintenance of the park’s lawns which are in the process of spring reseeding. While the grass is establishing now, visitors should expect the majority of lawns to be ready for use in late May.  Lawns are open daily for public use starting at 10 AM through 5 PM, weather permitting. Lawns are closed on Parade Days.  Learn more about park hours and rules by visiting our FAQ page.

Mark your calendars: Madison Square Park Conservancy’s Party in the Park is returning this year on March 28!

Join us for a celebratory evening under the stars as we honor MSPC Trustee Leslie Spira Lopez, President & CEO of Kew Management, for her longtime support and dedication to the park, and Daniel R. Garodnick, Chair of the City Planning Commission and Director of the New York City Department of City Planning, for his leadership in urban planning and commitment to neighborhoods across New York City. The night will also feature a celebration of 2023 artists Shahzia Sikander, whose Havah…to breathe, air, life, is currently on view in the park, and Sheila Pepe, whose My Neighbor’s Garden will debut in the park this June.

Attendees will enjoy fine wines, creative cocktails, and a unique dining experience from three renowned chefs. All proceeds from this event will help sustain the Conservancy’s mission to steward Madison Square Park as a clean and green oasis for our community.
