Madison Square Park Conservancy is responsible for the maintenance of the park’s lawns. From May through September, lawns are open daily for public use starting at 10 AM through 9 PM, weather permitting. Learn more about park hours and rules by visiting our FAQ page.

Music Series with Carnegie Hall

In collaboration with Carnegie Hall, Music on the Green is a free concert series inspired by Maya Lin’s Ghost Forest that brings artists from the Hall’s Ensemble Connect to reflect on the themes of the exhibition.

Concerts are held every Wednesday from July 7 through August 11 on the Oval Lawn.

Music on the Green Schedule

July 7 | 6 – 7 PM | Cort Roberts

  • A compelling performance by an ensemble of string quartet and horns.

July 14 | 6 – 7 PM | Leo Sussman

  • A performance of the flute, horn, piano, violin and cello.

July 21 | 6 – 7 PM | Arlen Hlusko

  • A string ensemble performed by an internationally acclaimed cellist.

July 28 | 6 – 7 PM | Sae Hashimoto

  • A performance on oboe, clarinet, bassoon, cello, and vibraphone.

August 4 | 6 – 7 PM | Sae Hashimoto

  • An evening of summer instrumental music performed on marimba and vibraphone.

August 11 | 6 – 7 PM | Cort Roberts

  • An engaging musical performance on woodwind instruments.
