On Make Music Day, the Village Trip Festival and New York State Music Teachers Association are collaborating on Open Perspectives, a program of music inspired by heritage, identity and discovery. Players will perform a piece of music that they feel represents their own heritage and culture and juxtapose it with a piece by a composer who presents a different perspective, striving to include less-programmed women and composers of color.

Expect an interesting mix of styles and genres, reflecting what it is to be human and how music crosses boundaries and  touches all of us. This program is part of Make Music Day.
