Madison Square Park Conservancy is responsible for the maintenance of the park’s lawns which are in the process of spring reseeding. While the grass is establishing now, visitors should expect the majority of lawns to be ready for use in late May.  Lawns are open daily for public use starting at 10 AM through 5 PM, weather permitting. Lawns are closed on Parade Days.  Learn more about park hours and rules by visiting our FAQ page.

“Landscape and Memory” Lunchtime Tour

Landscape And Memory Wide Shot Rashmi PNG

Artist Cristina Iglesias’ Landscape and Memory places five bronze sculptural pools, gently flowing with water arriving in different sequences, into the park’s Oval Lawn, harkening back to when the Cedar Creek—now buried underground—coursed across the land where the park stands today.

Join us for a free 15-minute tour of Landscape and Memory exhibition every Wednesday at noon, beginning September 14 through November 30.

Please meet by the northern entrance of the Oval Lawn, near the Farragut Monument.
