  • 10:30 AM-12 PM: Children’s Comedian Storytime with Nick Kroll & Friends (tickets required) adults must accompany a child to attend Comedian Storytime
  • 1 PM: Family Music Concert: Hot Peas ‘N Butter

Step into the Children’s Garden, where nature and play come alive! Designed by acclaimed landscape artist Lily Kwong, this vibrant new installation invites young explorers to discover the beauty of native plants through colorful gardens and interactive structures.

Join us for a special Family Day celebration packed with hands-on activities and entertainment. Highlights include:

  • Comedian Storytime with Nick Kroll & friends, brightening books through their hilarious interpretations.
  • A lively family music concert by Hot Peas ‘N Butter to get everyone movin’ and groovin’.
  • Garden games and nature-based activities, encouraging kids to dig in, explore and play.
  • A cozy children’s library nook, where little readers can explore a diverse selection of books all summer long.

Whether you’re planting, playing, or paging through a newly discovered book, there’s something for every young nature lover to enjoy!

Tickets are required to attend the Children’s Comedian Storytime—see below for details.


Please Note:

  • Tickets are free but are required for Comedian Storytime.
  • Tickets will be available via the MSPC website starting on Friday, May 23 at 10AM.
  • Limit 4 tickets per family.
  • The Children’s Garden will open at 9:45 AM on May 31. You must arrive by 10:15 AM or your seat will be given away. Please arrive early.
  • Adults without children will not be admitted – this is a children’s activity.
  • No re-entry will be allowed if you leave the Children’s Garden during Storytime.
  • Strollers, bikes and scooters are not permitted inside the Children’s Garden.
  • Monitored stroller parking will be available nearby. Please note: Madison Square Park Conservancy is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • By attending this event, you consent to being photographed or recorded for promotional use by Madison Square Park Conservancy.
  • Personal photography/videography of the storytime will not be permitted.
