Forest Bathing
April 17th | 5:30 PM – 6:30PM | Reflecting Pool
Take a second to reflect and practice mindfulness this Arbor Month. Parkgoers are invited to join Nancy Kopans, certified forest therapy guide and founder of Urban Edge Forest Therapy, on a slow mindful walk throughout the park. Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, forest bathing focuses on the connection between oneself and nature. This practice is said to boost the immune system, reduce stress, and improve cognitive functioning. As an arboretum the park’s diverse tree canopy is the perfect space to connect with one’s body, mind and spirit.
This program is free but registration is required. Please consider a donation to Madison Square Park Conservancy so that we can continue to offer free programs and maintain the park throughout the year. Donate here.
