Botanical Collection Tour: Witch Hazel
Tuesday | March 12 | 12 PM – 12:30 PM | Northern Reflecting Pool
Have you ever noticed the daffodils that bloom every spring in the park? Witch hazels in the winter? These plants are only a few of the established plant collections in the park. Join Stephanie Lucas, Director of Horticulture and Operations, for a warm cup of tea and learn about the park’s most recently accredited Witch Hazel Collection. These understory trees brighten the cold winter months with spider-like flowers that bloom in yellow, red, purple, and pink. Learn how to identify these special plants, the accreditation process, and everyday uses.
Free and open to the public, no reservations are necessary though registration is kindly requested. Please consider a donation to Madison Square Park Conservancy so that we can continue to offer free programs and maintain the park throughout the year. Donate here.
