Madison Square Park Conservancy is responsible for the maintenance of the park’s lawns which are in the process of spring reseeding. While the grass is establishing now, visitors should expect the majority of lawns to be ready for use in late May.  Lawns are open daily for public use starting at 10 AM through 5 PM, weather permitting. Lawns are closed on Parade Days.  Learn more about park hours and rules by visiting our FAQ page.

Spend the winter months diving into the topic of urban forestry as we read Jill Jonnes’ Urban Forests: A Natural History of Trees and People in the American Cityscape.

Join us via Zoom to discuss the wonderful world of New York City’s urban forest. Our first program will cover some of the themes and backgrounds found throughout the book.

A Natural History of Trees and People in the American Cityscape can be purchased from Jill Jonnes’ website prior to the event. Please register below to ensure you receive a Zoom invite for this discussion.
