Madison Square Park Conservancy is responsible for the maintenance of the park’s lawns which are in the process of spring reseeding. While the grass is establishing now, visitors should expect the majority of lawns to be ready for use in late May.  Lawns are open daily for public use starting at 10 AM through 5 PM, weather permitting. Lawns are closed on Parade Days.  Learn more about park hours and rules by visiting our FAQ page.

Copy Of ART TALK Vanessa German (1)

Join us for a free Art Talk in support of Cristina Iglesias’s Landscape and Memory, on view through December 4.

vanessa german (American, b. 1976) is a multi-disciplinary artist and a visual storyteller working across sculpture, installation, photography, performance, and community ritual who reckons with disrupted systems, spaces, and connections. During her Art Talk, german will discuss the potential of art to address historical cataclysms and propose alternative models.

This informal presentation will be held outdoors on the Oval Lawn. Following the presentation, parkgoers will have the opportunity to be in dialogue with the artist.
