A Seminar: Meaning and Metaphor in the Statue of Liberty

Join Abigail DeVille whose newly-commissioned sculpture Light of Freedom was inspired by the arm and torch of the Statue of Liberty which were on view in Madison Square Park from 1876 to 1882, and Professor Edward Berenson, whose scholarship on the Statue of Liberty transforms the interpretation of the colossal monument.

Brooke Kamin Rapaport, Deputy Director and Martin Friedman Chief Curator, will introduce the program.
